Keatsin opettajat osaavat lukea oppilaita ja auttaa heitä oppimaan kiinan kieltä helposti. He tuntevat oppilaiden tason. Olen hidas oppija, mutta he onnistuivat sopeutumaan oppimiseeni. He tekivät tunnista erittäin hauskan ja jännittävän. Olen iloinen, että en ainoastaan oppinut kulttuuria ja kieltä, vaan sain myös upeita ystäviä, todella uskomattomia, kiinalaisia ystäviä ja eurooppalaisia ystäviä, amerikkalaisia ystäviä kaikkialta maailmasta.
Nimeni on Sarah Fish. Olen 81-vuotias. Osasin hyvin vähän kiinaa saapuessani. Miten selviäisin kahdesta viikosta intensiivistä kiinan kielen kurssista? Minun on pakko nauraa, kun ajattelen sitä nyt. Mikä positiivinen kokemus tämä on ollut! Toivon todella, että voisimme olla täällä vähän pidempään. Minulla oli todella upea kokemus koulussa. Opettajat ovat erittäin ystävällisiä. Luokassani harjoittelemme puhumista, kuuntelemista, lukemista ja kirjoittamista. Pelaamme pelejä ja teemme muita hauskoja aktiviteetteja. Teemme retkiä ympäri kaupunkia. Keatsin henkilökunta on ilmiömäistä. Opettajani on yksi parhaista opettajista, joita minulla on koskaan ollut koulukokemukseni aikana. Hän tulee sisään hymy huulilla joka päivä.
Kiinan kielen opiskelusta täällä puhuttaessa mielestäni asumisolosuhteet ovat erittäin kätevät, koska asuntola on hyvin lähellä luokkahuonetta. Opettajamme todella nauttivat kiinan kielen opettamisesta. He ovat myös erittäin intohimoisia. Verrattuna muihin Kiinan kaupunkeihin, Kunmingissa on todella hyvä sää.
Viisumihakemus oli todella suoraviivainen, koska Keats School auttaa meitä siinä paljon. Pystyimme todella keskittymään puhumiseen, erityisesti haastattelutyyliseen puhumiseen, ja pystyimme todella parantamaan kiinan kielen luku- ja kirjoitustaitojani, joten kun palaan Columbiaan, voin osallistua virallisille kiinan kielen kursseille. Se on ollut todella hyvä kokemus ja rakastan todella opettajaani.
Tulen Kunmingiin, koska mielestäni siellä on parempi ympäristö ja olen kuullut, että Keats School on parempi. Pidän pienryhmäkiinan kielen tunneista, koska luokkatoverini opiskelevat ahkerasti ja opettajamme ovat erittäin hyviä. Pidän Keatsin opetusmenetelmästä, koska pidän Keatsin aktiviteeteista. Mielestäni Yunnan on erityisen kaunis Kiinan maakunta.
Nautin todella täällä käymisestä, koska tämä on minulle kuin koti. Se on loistava ympäristö oppia mandariinikiinaa Kiinassa ja tavata mahtavia ihmisiä kaikkialta maailmasta. Kaikki täällä ovat erittäin ystävällisiä. Kunmingissa on todella mukava ilmasto. Se on erittäin hyvä sekoitus modernia kaupunkia ja myös paljon historiallista kiinalaista kulttuuria.
