Mit navn er Sarah Fish. Jeg er 81. Jeg kendte meget lidt kinesisk, da jeg ankom. Hvordan skulle jeg overleve 2 ugers intensivt kinesiskkursus? Jeg må grine, når jeg tænker på det nu. Sikke en positiv oplevelse det har været! Jeg ville virkelig ønske, vi kunne være her lidt længere. Lærerne er ekstremt opmuntrende, de vurderer først, hvor meget man ved, og starter derefter derfra.
Sidste år begyndte jeg at studere kinesisk på universitetet. Grunden til, at jeg kom hertil, er, at jeg i øjeblikket forbereder mig til HSK 5-testen. Jeg hørte også, at dette er en af de bedste skoler til at studere mandarin i Kina. Efter jeg kom hertil, indså jeg, at Kunming er en ret fed by at bo i, og med hensyn til lærernes undervisningsmetoder synes jeg, de er meget professionelle. Og jeg synes, at sprogmiljøet er godt, så nu er jeg klar til at tage HSK 5.
Jeg er kandidatstuderende og arbejder på min doktorgrad på Columbia University. Vi har virkelig kunnet fokusere på at tale, især interview-lignende tale, og vi har virkelig forbedret mine kinesiske læse- og skrivefærdigheder, så når jeg kommer tilbage til Columbia, kan jeg tage formelle kinesiskkurser. Det har været en rigtig god oplevelse, og jeg elsker virkelig min lærer.
Stedet er meget fedt. Jeg er sammen med en fantastisk gruppe mennesker i min klasse, så det er meget hyggeligt at komme til undervisning. Det er sjovt, vi har en masse diskussioner, spil og aktiviteter. Vores lærere er også meget dygtige og meget støttende. Det er skræmmende at lære kinesisk i starten, fordi man har så mange spørgsmål. Men jeg vil anbefale at komme til Keats, fordi atmosfæren for læring er fantastisk. Det er meget afslappende. Jeg vil anbefale skolen.
At lytte og tale i klasseværelset hver dag har forbedret mine kommunikationsevner. Efter tre uger blev mine nye ord og sætninger mere og mere naturlige og flydende. Nu er jeg vant til at tænke på kinesisk, og jeg forstår bedre, hvad andre mennesker siger, for at kunne have rigtige samtaler med andre mennesker.
Det er meget bekvemt at komme til Kunming fra Thailand. Jeg kan virkelig godt lide min kinesiskundervisning, og mit kinesisk blev meget bedre på et par måneder. Der er mange fordele ved at lære kinesisk. Det bedste, jeg kan lide ved Keats, er, at det ligger i Kunming, en by med det evige forår. Der er så meget at se i Kunming, og du vil elske denne by, når du kommer.
Det har været bemærkelsesværdigt, fordi jeg har mødt mange mennesker, som jeg mødte første gang sidste år, og som gerne vil vende tilbage til Keats i år. Undervisningen har været fantastisk. Lærerne forbereder omhyggeligt hver lektion. Jeg synes, at denne en-til-en-tilgang er en rigtig god måde hurtigt at forbedre dit niveau i kinesisk og øge din selvtillid og flydende sprogfærdigheder.
Jeg har haft en fantastisk tid på Keats. Jeg er forbløffet over, hvor meget jeg har lært i løbet af de sidste 3 uger, og jeg vil være virkelig ked af at skulle afsted. Vi planlægger allerede vores næste tur tilbage, fordi vi havde en så fantastisk tid her. De skræddersyr virkelig det kinesiske sprogkursus til dig og dine individuelle behov.
